Our Story

From One Student to 500+ NYC Families

GeniusPrep started in 2016 in the Flatiron district of Manhattan with a clear mission: make tutoring work by making it matter to the student. Traditional tutoring treats knowledge as something to pour in. We treat motivation as something to draw out.

Our approach is rooted in behavioral science. We use incentive-based learning — rewarding effort, consistency, and improvement rather than just test scores. When a child feels recognized for trying hard, they try harder. The grades follow naturally.

Today, we serve families across all five boroughs and New Jersey, offering private one-on-one tutoring for every grade level (K-12), specialized test prep for the SAT and ACT, SHSAT, ISEE and SSAT, and our NYS-approved Genius Plan for long-term academic development.

Our learning center is located in the heart of Manhattan's Flatiron district, near Union Square. We're easily accessible by subway (4/5/6/L/N/Q/R/W trains at 14th Street – Union Square).

We serve families from across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and New Jersey. For students who can't visit in person, we also offer remote tutoring sessions.
